Tijuana Zonkeys begin its preseason with a view to the 2020 Pacific Coast Basketball League (Cibacopa for the spanish initials), this past monday afternoon in the Ernesto “Pajarito” Ruiz Gym.
The head coach Henry Bibby led the first day of work with a group of 18 players, most of them are in pursuit of a place in the roster that will play in the opening game, that will have place on March 12 in the Zonkeys Academy Auditorium.
Bibby, who was accompanied of his assistants Larry Lesset and Romualdo Rodriguez, welcomed all the players and explained to them his work system. He also urged them to give the best of themselves in every moment.
The president of the franchise, Rafael Carrillo, was also there, as well as Jeffrey Jensen, the sports manager.
Since the first day of the training, were present the local players: Luis “Chupa” Ramirez, who have been in Zonkeys for more time that anyone else; Joel Reynoso, in his second season with the franchise; as well as Cesar Martin del Campo.
Were also present the five prospects who where elected in the “tryouts” of the Juvenile category: Christopher Gil, Luis Rodriguez, Arturo Bibriesca, Daniel Contreras and Raul Plascencia, who was part of the team in the 2019 season.
The preseason training will continue this tuesday with a morning and afternoon sessions.
